Junior Business Analyst

The Role

  • Requirements Gathering: Assist in collaborating with business stakeholders and colleagues to gather and document requirements for new projects and initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to business performance and operational efficiency, with support from experienced analysts.
  • Project Management Support: Provide support in the design and implementation of process improvements and system enhancements. Assist in monitoring key performance indicators and provide regular updates on project status and progress to senior team members.
  • Testing and Validation: Assist in the testing and validation of new systems and software applications by executing predefined test cases and documenting results.
  • Documentation and Report Writing: Support the development of business cases, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analysis to aid decision-making. Assist in preparing and delivering reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Market Data Monitoring: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices by conducting basic research and sharing findings with the team.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Relevant Degree (Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or Finance based) or certifications (Certified Business Analysis Professional, Agile Analysis Certification etc) would be beneficial
  • Data and logically minded
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Proficiency in creating detailed documentation including Business Requirement Documents, Functional Requirement Documents and Report writing
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Test automation experience would be advantageous
  • While not mandatory, familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java and C# can be advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel for data manipulation and analysis
  • Good knowledge of MS SQL and query writing
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Excellent understanding of relevant policies and regulations, particularly relating to Market Abuse, Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime.
