Join Man Group’s Security Operations team as an Apprentice, focusing on the critical function of reviewing and managing security events. Reporting to our Head of Security Operations, this entry-level role is designed for individuals passionate about cybersecurity and eager to develop their professional skills in a dynamic financial sector environment.

About the Apprenticeship:

The Apprentice will be studying the L3 Information Communications Technican alongside Kaplan and will be given full support in achieving the qualification.

Please note this is an 18-month fixed-term apprenticeship role offered as part of Man Group’s School Leaver Programme, targeting motivated students aged 17-23, with the potential to move into a full-time role following the completion of the programme.

We are unfortunately unable to sponsor visas for this programme or provide this opportunity to individuals who already have a similar qualification at a higher level than the apprenticeship associated with this programme.

Responsibilities:

• Review and Triage Security Events: Analyse event and alert data to identify potential security incidents. Learn to prioritise events based on severity and impact to ensure timely responses.
• Develop Security Playbooks: Assist in the creation and maintenance of event response playbooks to standardize and streamline the handling of common security scenarios.
• Respond to Inquiries: Address business-related requests and inquiries concerning security events, providing clear and concise information to stakeholders.
• Support Incident Response: Participate in incident response efforts as needed, applying playbooks, and contributing to after-action reviews to improve future responses.
• Collaborate on Projects: Work closely with experienced analysts and engineers on projects to enhance security measures and implement new technologies.

Key Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic understanding of security principles, techniques, and technologies.
• Good communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical information.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with Python and core Information Security tools is a plus but not required.
