About the Role

Connex Education is partnering with a thriving secondary school in Bolton, to appoint several graduate Youth Support Mentors for the new academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive staff team dedicated to easing the transition in the new academic year for pupils across KS3/KS4.

Roles and responsibilities:

As a Graduate Youth Support Mentor, you will mentor and support pupils with teaching and learning in a range of subjects, from in class support, after school clubs and smaller group sessions. Your role will involve:

  • Supporting teaching and learning in class and smaller groups throughout the school day.
  • Working across a range of subjects targeted for identified pupils.
  • Assisting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL), Special Educational Needs (SEN), or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
  • You will work closely with the Head of Year and Assistant Headteacher to ensure a smooth transition for the pupils.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience working with children within an education setting or similar.
  • Previous experience working with SEN is highly advantageous.
  • Graduates from all subject specialisms welcome, previous experience working with children and young people is essential.
  • Current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one.
