Junior Software Engineer

Junior C# Developer – Up to £40k (Based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, manage, and resolve incidents for supported systems in collaboration with internal teams and third-party support partners

Identify, manage, and resolve underlying system problems

Responsible for 2nd and 3rd line application support, proactively identifying service improvement opportunities for the application estate

Conduct testing and deployment of developed solutions

Create and maintain both technical and non-technical documentation

Review and implement upgrades and fixes provided by system software suppliers

Collaborate with other IS team members to deliver system changes, including releases, training, and user documentation

Perform regular systems quality assurance activities to ensure optimal system operation

Ensure security compliance of all systems through regular audits of security controls and proactive implementation of preventive measures

Liaise with external software suppliers and specialist teams in the design and delivery of application-related projects

Key experience:

Support the development and upkeep of software applications by adhering to coding standards and best practices

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code across multiple platforms and technologies

Engage in code reviews, paired programming, and debugging sessions to improve coding skills

Solicit feedback and actively engage in training sessions to enhance technical skills

Communicate effectively with team members to share progress updates, discuss challenges, and brainstorm solutions

Confident in presenting to and speaking before team members, management, and business users
