Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
Basic DBS disclosure required for this role.

Key Requirements:

HND/C or equivalent in Building Surveying or a related subject.
Full professional membership (e.g. RICS, CABE, CIOB).
Class 2 Registration with the Building Safety Regulator.
Must be able to supervise trainees.
Minimum 4 years’ post-qualification experience in Building Control or a related field.
In-depth understanding of current Building Regulations and legislation.
Knowledge of health and safety and licensing regulations.
Familiarity with customer service standards and quality frameworks.

In this high-impact position, the successful candidate will ensure the health, safety, and welfare of people in and around buildings, contribute to environmental protection, support sustainable development, and deliver expert guidance across a wide range of building projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver and promote a high-quality, value-for-money Building Control service.
Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation to protect health, safety, and welfare.
Provide expert advice and support to clients, developers, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the building process.
Carry out inspections of building works, including at height, underground, or in adverse weather, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Monitor and manage complex caseloads, including enforcement and contravention cases.
Maintain accurate, detailed records and produce professional reports following site visits, plan checks, and investigations.
Provide out-of-hours support and participate in the emergency response rota for dangerous structures and demolitions.
Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
