What you will do in your working day

  • Working with an experienced, and knowledgeable, 90% qualified team of 22 staff, Caring for 0 to 14 years old.
  • After a few months of induction and settling in, you will take on a group of key children, ranging from 0 to 5 years old. You will have an experienced member of staff with you, with your key children for the first 6 months, providing you support and training in the planning cycle. Planning, observation, next steps, evaluation etc. You will also be supported to identify and understand self-evaluation.
  • You will be involved in daily setting tasks to include operating and recording on our nursery management system Famly, maintaining ratio, school runs, assisting the team, risk assessments and, planning and implementing activities.
  • You will be offered a wealth of CPD opportunities, initially being paediatric first aid, safeguarding, and food hygiene. You will also be given the agency to find your own CPD that interests you and you would like to complete. Again, supported by the team.
  • The setting works by everyone supporting each other. We work as a warm and welcoming team. We work closely with our families and develop strong relationships with our little people.

The training you will be getting

  • You will be working towards the Early Years Educator level 3 qualification.
  • The qualification is setting based where your assessor comes into the setting, accepts completed work and sets out your next module. They will also do observations of your practice within the setting to complete some of your modules. This works well for those who are not necessarily academic.
  • Functional skills qualifications are offered as part of your qualification, if needed.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Ongoing employments is offered. Once you are working with us, you can stay as long as you want to or move on for new experiences when you are ready
