Buyer – Residential Groundworks

With over 40 years experience, this market-leading Civil Engineering and Groundworks company are subcontractors to both regional and national housebuilders. With a turnover of c£100 million they are financially stable and growing organically. Projects include 278 works, residential groundworks, footpaths, roads, sewers and earthworks.

What you ll be doing

You ll be using your excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to build relationships and manage suppliers, negotiating prices, and placing orders. Including:

  • Managing the day-to-day project procurement of materials.
  • Liaising with the on-site teams to source the most cost-effective materials, of the highest quality.
  • Monitoring the performance, quality, prices and development of suppliers.
  • Ensure Health and Safety compliance.
  • Identify new potential suppliers and products.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals.
  • Attend team meetings and site visits.
  • Prepare and maintain cost reports to maximise efficiency.

Must haves

  • Keen interest in construction
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and the site teams.
