About the role

Bouygues UK is recruiting for a Graduate Facade Engineer/Manager. You will be enrolled onto our graduate programme which is a two year structured training scheme. The programme is designed to enhance and develop soft skills and technical capability through a blend of classroom based learning and on the job training.

You will be working on our Oriel project, which is a joint initiative to transform a two-acre site at St Pancras Hospital to deliver a pioneering eye care, research, and education centre. The project will be a new, state-of-the-art building with an anticipated gross internal area of up to 46,000m2.

Designed with flexibility in mind, it will be able to meet future service requirements and keep pace with changes in technological, medical or research requirements. Its design has been the subject of an extensive programme of engagement with patients, staff and partner organisations to ensure a national standard for accessibility is created. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the project teams with all aspect of project implementation, including but not limited to site and factory inspection, quality, audits, reports preparation, etc.
  • Responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of own work
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare façade engineering design documents
  • Daily monitoring of works on site with regards compliance to the approved safe systems of works and H&S safety standards
  • Carrying out site quality inspections and ensuring works are being carried out in compliance with the design & project quality plan
  • Management of the façade installation site logistics such as exclusion zones, material management & locations of access & lifting equipment
  • We will provide you with the support and mechanisms to build a successful career, including support with chartership

Graduate programme:

You will be enrolled onto our graduate programme which is a two year structured training scheme. The programme is designed to enhance and develop soft skills and technical capability through a blend of classroom-based learning and on the job training. 

What you’ll need:

  • A degree in Construction Management (Preferred), Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure/experience in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Awareness of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to façade engineering.
  • An interest in advanced façade systems & technologies, including unitized facades, double-skin facades, ETFE roof systems, and adaptive shading systems
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices and green building certifications like BREEAM or LEED
  • Commitment to continued professional development through further education or professional certifications
  • Awareness of other façade /envelope systems
