We have a fantastic opportunity available at Bouygues Energies & Services (BYES) for a Graduate Engineer focusing on Layout Engineering and 3D modelling to be based from our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke.

It’s a very exciting time to be joining Bouygues! We have been delivering a Turn-key EPC contract for the Hinkley Point C new build nuclear power plant Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG).

The successful candidate would have the opportunity to work alongside a group of very dedicated and knowledgeable individuals within our technical team, and be able to contribute to the work that we are carrying out on this innovative and technically challenging project.

Your responsibilities will include

  • PDMS/E3D and E3D administration:

    • Resolve trouble shooting during execution of different PDMS/E3D design activities.
    • Carry out the ADMIN customisation part of project MDB, piping specification, drawing template, Isometrics and Report tasks.

  • PDMS and E3D Design module:

    • Creation and modification of Piping, supports + MDS, steelwork, equipment, components, electrical cable trays according to the input data and drawings provided by the layout lead.

  • PDMS and E3D DRAW/DRAFT, SPECON, PARAGON, LEXICON, PROPCON modules:

    • Creation and modification General assemblies, equipment drawings, isometrics, specifications, catalogues and UDAs.

  • PDMS/E3D custom reports and collection as required from the project.
  • Work with Autodesk AutoCAD and Navisworks
  • Carrying out layout engineering (positioning of equipment, pipe routings, supporting, etc.).
  • Performing 2D/3D consistency checks (3D-Model check against P&IDs, Single line diagrams.
  • Review the deliverables issued by our sub-contractors and ensure that they meet the technical and quality requirements of the Customer.

Graduate programme

You will be enrolled onto our graduate programme which is a two year structured training scheme. The programme is designed to enhance and develop soft skills and technical capability through a blend of classroom-based learning and on the job training.

About you

  • A 2:1 (or above) in an engineering discipline (mechanical, civil/structural or process engineering preferred)
  • 3D modelling knowledge
  • Knowledge of Python programming (preferred but not essential)
  • A genuine desire to work in the nuclear industry!
