Junior Service Engineer

Our client, a global supplier of specialised laboratory equipment, are searching for a Junior Engineer to train up into a fully fledged Field Service Engineer role, to work across the South of England. The role provides a high level of training and would suit a mechanically-minded individual who enjoys being out on the road, interacting with customers and solving problems.

The areas you will be mainly covering include Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey with less frequent trips to West London as well as Bristol, with the odd day in the South West.

A company car will be provided which is also for personal use outside of working hours, all work related fuel costs will be reimbursed.

Field Service Engineer responsibilities:

Provide field-based support to customers

Meet and exceed customer expectations

Perform Installation, preventative maintenance, validation, and emergency repairs for specialist range of laboratory equipment.

Liaise with head office and senior engineers to troubleshoot any issues

Record and report all activity in line with company procedures

The ideal Field service Engineer will possess:

HND or possibly BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or have equivalent industry experience)

May also consider someone who has been working in a lab if the role involved equipment repair, calibration etc.

Some industry experience, ideally in service, repair or maintenance but would give consideration to individuals with the right aptitude who can display some interest in engineering outside of the workplace

An eagerness to learn new skills

A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
