Global Markets helps their franchise of clients finding effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. The client base is comprised of hundreds of corporations, institutional investors, banks, governments and supranational organizations.

The DRIVE team is located within Global Technology Platform and the COO office of CIB Global Markets & CIB ITO Quality and Efficiency. Within DRIVE, DRIVE Electronic Venues (DRIVE EV) is a team of experts dedicated to the integration of listed venues within BNPP SA and BNPP Arbitrage chains with a solution oriented mind-set.

Job purpose

Within DRIVE, the Electronic Venues practice (EV) hosts specialists of End to End chain (Front-Office to accounting) in connection with transversal Metiers (across several FO business lines or users groups or locations/entities) and projects. The DRIVE EV covers GM business lines globally.

The long term intern within DRIVE EV plays the role of Project Manager Assistant to DRIVE EV team member. The intern will work on some end to end review of the GM Value Chain in connection with Regulated Market, MTF, or other Brokers interfaces.

The intern is involved in the study and/or implementation of the projects allocated to DRIVE EV, which encompasses to:

  • Frame the project upfront, define the most adequate governance to lead the project to success and get signoff,
  • When relevant, consolidate the design the solution that the project is to deliver, with proper signoff from clients & IT architecture & relevant contributors,
  • Build/consolidate and maintain the project plan, effectively manage unplanned events, manage dependencies and critical path,
  • Drive the project team to completion in close interaction with the Project Sponsor, ensure effective communication, continuous alignment of all contributors and timely running of governance routines,
  • Take responsibility for – when appropriate – some of the actions and analysis related to the project, without losing focus on the roadmap,
  • Secure the staffing of the project team, with the support of line managers and/or relevant governance body in charge of allocating resources,
  • Perform project retrospective to leverage on experience and learn lessons for improvement for the future.
  • Manage production issues and assist in their resolution.

The key interactions are with the project sponsor, front-office teams, operations teams, IT and Finance. Depending on the nature of the project, liaison with GM Reg, Compliance, Legal, Risk, GM QR and Tax is required too. Perform project retrospective to leverage on experience and learn lessons for improvement for the future.

Core accountabilities of role

The long term intern in this role assists DRIVE EV Project Manager during projects and can potentially run directly simple project under the supervision of a more senior PM in the Team. The intern is in charge to help in the design and integration of new venues for the EMEA desks in the GM End to End ecosytem accordingly.

The main mandates are

  • Assist DRIVE EV team members
  • Assist the business in the design and review of their requests,
  • Create cartographies of the end to end test
  • Follow the implementation of the operational & IT processes,

The scope of intervention

  • EMEA Electronic trading venues (Regulated market, MTF, ?)
  • Listed Products (Equity, ETP, Derivatives, Bonds, FX, ?)
  • Global Macro & Global Credit mainly but also Global Equities depending on Business demands at a given time
  • Out of scope : Smart derivative & Cortex, DEC Fidessa, PB Cash, SLAB

The mission

  • Help PM in leading the integration of venues for the EMEA desks
  • Participate in feasibility studies
  • Collect stakeholders agreement
  • Assist PM in End-to-end design and implementation
  • Ensure consistency in Market cartographies (Front to back alignment and homogeny via market cartographies)

Knowledge, skill and experience

Technical skills required

  • Good understanding of Project Managements concepts
  • Basic understanding of Global Markets Business and its purpose
