We have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Orthotist to join our experienced team at the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are a highly experienced, stable team, based just outside London. We are a small, well run, well-funded centre with strong links to referrers. This is a highly rewarding role, where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a clinically challenging environment under the mentorship of an experienced team.

The role:

As Graduate Orthotist, you will join a strong multi-disciplinary team, using your clinical skill and experience to contribute to the delivery of a first class Orthotic Clinical Service.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting a caseload of clients with a wide range of complex conditions and recommending the best course of intervention.

Effectively communicating with informed patient consent, discussing the reasons for the prescription.

Providing counselling, advice, and support as necessary to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.

Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, suppling, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses as required.

Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records.

Providing training in the field of Orthotics at all levels

What are we looking for?

Essential skills and experience

Qualified in

Prosthetics/Orthotics

HCPC registration

Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable)

Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear.

Able to prioritise and manage workload.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels.

Be able to manage difficult, challenging, and sensitive situations.

Good judgment and decision-making skills
