Are you an accounting professional eager to take the next step in your career? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you within our prestigious Investment and Property Management team!

We’re looking for someone with a degree in Accountancy and Finance and ideally around a year of practical experience. However, what’s most important to us is your accounting knowledge, teamwork skills, and business acumen.

In this role, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, handling all aspects of client and property accounting aswell as providing support to our Client Accountants and Accounts Manager. You will be involved in everything from reconciliation’s, budgets and month end tasks. You’ll work closely with our Property Managers and Property Administrators to ensure our clients’ needs and expectations are met. The team is made up of 15 dedicated accounting professionals who contribute to our collaborative and supportive environment.

Our team manages a diverse range of assets for esteemed clients, including Trinity College, Cambridge. From the Cambridge Science Park to the Port of Felixstowe, you’ll be managing a prestigious and varied portfolio.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing statements to clients (quarterly or monthly)
  • Month end reporting including Accruals and Prepayments 
  • Transferring funds into client accounts  
  • Reconciling service charge, e.g. from multiple tenants in a building 
  • Monitoring service charges budgets and funding
  • Raise Bidwells fee accounts
  • Oversee Debt Chasing for your portfolio
  • Reporting budget versus actual service charges 
  • VAT reporting
  • Provide cover for tenant deposit closure process
  • Queries from other members of the Department, including Client Accountants and Property Managers regarding rent demands and collections 
  • Client liaison – this role acts as a first point of contact for clients and tenants (as required)
  • Supporting other staff in the Department to ensure there is no backlog of work
  • Becoming proficient in the use of our integrated property management and accounts package, Propman

 About you

  • Clear understanding of basic accounting principles including accruals and prepayments
  • Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • A minimum of GCSE or equivalent A – C in English and Maths
  • 1 year practical work experience within an Accounting role (desirable)
  • Experience of using accounting software
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Clear understanding of the confidentiality involved in dealing with client accounts
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
