Trainee Solicitor – Public Community Care human Rights

We are inviting applications from prospective Trainee Solicitors with a view to joining our busy Public Law & Community Care (Human Rights) Department. Bhatia Best is a large, multi-disciplinary practice that covers the East Midlands and beyond. We have offices in Nottingham, Derby and Mansfield and are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, talented individuals to join our team as we expand. We pride ourselves in providing our staff with the tools they need to advance their career. Job Specification: – Advise and represent clients.

– Undertake fee-earning responsibilities to support principal caseworkers.

– Support senior caseworkers working on progression and management of case files.

– Act as a fee earner undertaking tasks delegated by senior caseworkers.

– Comply with SQM (Specialist Quality Mark) and all internal transaction criteria and procedures.

– Assist and participate with training initiatives taken by the firm.

– Act as “next friend” and promote training initiatives of new recruits and promoted staff.

– Comply with the firm’s Office Manual.

– Maintain client confidentiality and legal professional privilege.

– Actively promote office relations with clients, their families and potential new clients (Public relations). Personal Specification:- Skills: – Confident demeanour. Good oral and written communication. Grasp of legal procedures, court protocol and rules of evidence. Ability to record meticulously.

– Ability to attract clients and referrals. Understanding of costs awareness. Knowledge: – Successful completion of or undergoing part time LPC or SQE qualification.

– Understanding of Rules of Conduct and Client Confidentiality. Experience: – Work within practice, industry supplement to academic training.

– Computer or ICT familiarity. Dealing with the public Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm with one hour for lunch. Previous Applicants Need Not Apply.
