Role Summary:

BGC Partners is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Quant Developer to join our Pre-Trade Technology team based in London. In this role, you will collaborate with busy trading desks handling various asset classes, such as interest rate swaps, interest rate options, FX, commodities, etc. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting real-time pricing/analytics functionality for brokers and contributing to the distribution of prices to market data vendors. A proactive and agile approach is crucial as you engage with Quants and work closely with business teams to deliver solutions within defined constraints. This an excellent opportunity to enter the financial sector.

Group Description:

Our globally dispersed team is accountable for real-time pricing models used on broking desks, along with the internal distribution of prices to platforms like Reuters, Bloomberg, and external web applications. With teams located in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Sydney, collaboration and iterative processes drive the development of innovative pricing and analytics applications that facilitate revenue growth. The role demands individuals who can think on their feet, devise forward-thinking solutions, and engage in collaborative, out-of-the-box thinking.

Key Responsibilities / Exposure:

Develop, configure, test, and support application solutions using an in-house low-code framework, actively participating in the resolution of production issues.

Collaborate with broking desks to capture requirements across multiple asset classes.

Work within real-time event-driven environments to develop new pricing models.

Engage in research and development to address new and existing challenges.

Utilize, integrate, and contribute to the development of Quantitative Libraries/components.

Conduct data-driven development, mocking, and back-testing.

Skills / Experience:

Previous experience working on a trading desk or in a front office environment.

Exposure to multiple asset classes is advantageous.

Experience in numerical/pricing analytics.

Business analysis and requirements capturing skills.

Proficiency in languages/technologies such as Excel, C#, Linq, C++, and Database/SQL.

Education:

Preferred degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, or a related field.
