As an apprentice, you’ll have the chance to gain valuable experience and work alongside a range of Academy staff, including the Head of IT. You’ll receive mentorship and guidance to ensure a positive and productive experience, with training taking place both on-site at the Academy and off-site at external locations.

To be successful in the program, you will need to demonstrate a strong enthusiasm and commitment to undertake training and development activities, ultimately leading to achieving a level 3 qualifications.

In this role, youll work towards your Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

To work within the IT team in the day to day running of the network and IT equipment.

To assist with the maintenance of the Academys IT equipment, including looking after the IT suites and laptops, replacing broken equipment and repairing any damages.

To support end users via the helpdesk to deal with problems within ICT and replacing broken hardware e.g. screens/ mice.

To assist in the development and on-going growth of the Central Resource System of ICT equipment.

To log and respond to network service calls and provide technical network support to end users as required.

To deal with IT queries via the telephone including taking messages and passing them on as appropriate.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

Experience of working with ICT equipment

A good knowledge of computing software, hardware and peripherals

Good time management skills, with an ability to meet competing demands

Good communication skills, including verbal and written

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

GCSE Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English
