Our Team is currently working on a vast project portfolio which is reshaping the entire energy sector in Scotland, with a focus on securing the UK’s future energy security and net zero ambitions.

This role will require occasional travel to our Substation projects around Scotland

What you’ll be doing

The Junior Buyer will support the procurement team across various functions and projects. This role is an entry level position which will allow the successful candidate to learn on the job and has exciting career progression opportunities. The role will entail the following but is not limited to:-

  • Project procurement support
  • New supplier onboarding in line with Balfour Beatty Group Policies and Procedures using Constructionline
  • Monthly reporting
  • Monitoring live tenders and creating TQ logs and answering queries on Jaggaer.
  • Processing of requisitions and purchase orders on Oracle R12
  • Expediting orders

Who we’re looking for

  • Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against bid / project milestones
  • Analytical, numerically astute with well-developed problem-solving abilities
  • Able to apply effective attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise – with support – a challenging workload of competing priorities
  • The ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance, is essential
  • MCIPS or an interest in studying towards MCIPS is advantageous.
  • Experience of Oracle R12 or other ERP systems and Jaggaer e-procurement platforms advantageous; however, training can be provided if applicant has no experience of these
