Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor’s Assistant | Weston-Super-Mare – Office Based | Full Time – 35 hours per week | 9am-5pm Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break | £17,000 – £21,500 per annum

Our client is one of the country’s leading independent firms of consultant motor engineers and insurance assessors. They have been providing first-class motor engineering services to all sides of the insurance industry for over 40 years.

They are looking for an enthusiastic person, blessed with a good dose of common sense, to join their team at their head office in Weston-Super-Mare to learn the ropes of becoming a Vehicle Damage Assessor’s Assistant. You will have a good eye for detail, be able to complete your work with accuracy and communicate well. An interest in cars and how they are repaired after insurance claims would also be beneficial for this role which has good scope for progression for the right candidate.

The role is office based and includes supporting the team of qualified field damage assessors around the Country, processing assessor’s reports on damaged vehicles for insurance claims, reviewing garage invoices for vehicle repairs and other general admin/office work.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, a good level of IT literacy and be quick to learn new systems. An awareness of the motor insurance claims process would also be beneficial but not essential, but you must be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to all of your work with a good eye for detail and accuracy.

What will your role look like?

Reviewing assessors reports and entering them onto their easy to use back office system

Supporting their team of field engineers/assessors around the country as they inspect damage vehicles

Researching values of vehicles which are involved in insurance claims

Auditing garage repair invoices for insurance claims

Triaging new claims and checking you have all the required information needed to complete a damage assessment

Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls with clients

Providing support to other members of the office team as needed
