About us

Anglian Water is a company whose purpose is to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop.

We were the first water company to set ambitious targets for reducing both capital and operational carbon by cutting our carbon emissions to net zero by 2030. We have made great progress so far by driving carbon out of our business for well over a decade, for example By 2020 we’d cut capital carbon 61%. Now it’s onward and downward, Fast.

What to expect?

Engineering is in our world a broad term that can refer to different aspects of managing and preserving water resources. Your focus will be using your analytical and creative mindset to help us think outside the box about the best solution for long term sustainability.

You will be at the forefront of innovation and change. If you’re eager to turn your passion for the environment and engineering into a meaningful career, this opportunity is tailor-made for you!

As a Graduate with us, you’ll have the chance to drive ground-breaking projects that reshape the world around us. From designing advanced waste management systems to building new reservoirs, your ideas will shape a cleaner, greener future. You will be part of a team of like-minded professionals dedicated to making a positive impact on local communities. You will be able to dive into the latest technologies and tools that empower you to design, model, and implement sustainable solutions.

Water engineering is influenced by various challenges and factors, such as global warming, aging infrastructure, population growth, living standards, water availability, and water safety.

Some engineers are involved with the provision of clean water, disposal of wastewater and sewage, and the prevention of flood damage. Others specialised in water quality engineering, which deals with the theory, design, modelling, and operation of biological and chemical wastewater and sludge treatment systems. Another branch is hydraulic engineering, which is concerned with the flow and conveyance of fluids, mainly water and sewage, and the design of structures that control water resources, such as dams, bridges, canals, and levees.

We’re committed to your development! Our tailored mentorship programs, ongoing training, and exposure to diverse projects will accelerate your growth as an engineering expert.

To be successful you will need:

  • A splash of passion to help shape the future of our industry
  • A drop of initiative to put forward innovative ideas
  • A minimum of a 2:2 degree (any subjects welcome)
  • Flexibility to travel and re-locate between placements across the Anglian region
  • A full UK driving licence

Closing date: Sunday 22nd October 2023
