About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Degree Apprentice to join the Work Winning leads based in London.

Supporting Amey’s Business Development Process and Product Owner for Amey’s Customer Relationship Management System. Accountable for the Miller Heiman Sales Methodology Process for Amey Group and CRM System that results in secured new business Single Sales Objectives (SSOs) and supports the achievement of growth targets.

As a Business Development Degree Apprentice, your day-to-day work will involve supporting Amey’s business development process by scheduling meetings, reviewing attendance, taking notes, and recording actions.

You will work closely with the Knowledge Management teams to ensure a consistent approach between business development and knowledge management for key bidding projects.

You will be part of a wider team, including your Line Manager and the Group Commercial & Work Winning team, and will work under their close supervision. You will also be working alongside two other apprentices who are studying quantity surveying.

Your Line Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Amey’s business development process is effective, and Amey continues to win work from Clients by understanding their needs for the services that they want delivered.

You will be responsible for: 

  • Arranging the Miller Heiman programme of meetings, planning and reviewing attendance, taking notes, recording actions, following up with the action owners that the system is up to date.
  • Review of the Customer Relationship Management system to ensure the information is up to date including sectors, contacts, clients, meeting notes, competitors, activities, SSO’s and key dates. Produce reports for the Head of Business Development.
  • Liaising with the Work Winning teams and the Knowledge Management team to ensure the correct content is being developed, working with Subject Matter Experts to transfer knowledge.

As part of your Degree Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a Business to Business Sales Professional Degree Apprenticeship Level 6 qualification which normally runs for 36 months.

You will be fully supported by our partnered college to achieve this qualification by attending college 1-day per week, having 1-2-1 advice and support, e-learning materials, and a whole team of experts on hand for advice and technical knowledge at your office.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • 2 x A levels at grade D or higher
  • Minimum 2 GCSE’s Maths and English is required
  • A driving licence would be desirable.
  • Available to join the programme ASAP
  • High level of motivation and initiative; self-starter
  • Please note clearance check will be required if you are successful in your application.
