Boughey Distribution Limited is one of the UK’s leading logistics providers to the food industry and is driving business forward in 2024 with an ambitious expansion strategy. Part of NWF Group, Boughey Distribution marked its 60th anniversary, last year, with the opening of a purpose-fitted 322,000 square feet warehouse in Newcastle-under-Lyme with the creation of 150 new jobs and the adoption of electric HGVs to the 167-strong fleet of HGVs. The 1,000 + strong team at Boughey also enjoyed a huge summer party for themselves and their families to celebrate the anniversary. In February, it was named Large Employer of the Year, at Cheshire College – South & West’s annual Apprenticeship awards, which rewards the achievements of apprentices and the support given by valued employer partners. The new Lymedale Business Park site is in addition to Boughey’s headquarter site in Wardle, near Nantwich, and a further large-scale additional warehouse in nearby Crewe. The firm, which has contracts with global giants ALDI and Arla Foods as well as well-known brands such as Swizzels, Good Guys Bakehouse and Love Corn, is also an ardent supporter of its local community and its associated sports clubs. The firm has also recently achieved the coveted B Corp accreditation for its demonstration of excellent working practices with regard to the environment, its local community and the way it supports a 1,000 + workforce, which is set to increase significantly in the near future.
